Illegal hotel contracts, lax health and safety checks at events, the way forward with social media, ROI and hospitality at the Olympics were just some of the hotly debated topics discussed at the latest BNC Networking Forum, held at London's elite May Fair hotel.
Hosted by Anjie Keegal, Director of Business Development for Radisson Edwardian Hotels, the Forum was initiated by BNC members who wanted to go beyond the online networking to meet and learn from each other at a structured event.
Ten top UK corporate event, marketing and conference managers from all over London and as far afield as Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol met for a half day forum that is hoped to be the first of many this year.
After initial introductions the networkers enjoyed a tasty and creative hot buffet lunch in the sleek surroundings of one of The May Fair's 11 flexible meeting rooms. Our every need was catered for yet we barely noticed the efficient and discreet meeting and catering staff who looked after us so well.
Chaired superbly by BNC member Simon Bracewell, Client Services Director at Euro RSCG Heist, the forum was split into three sections: Delegates, Data and Marketing; Venues, Contracts and Health and Safety; Cost Saving, Outsourcing, ROI.
As well as covering a full agenda of varied topics throughout the day the group eagerly offered their recommendations for hotels, products, services and more. They also did an analysis of the best events spaces in destinations such as London and Manchester as well as sharing tips, ideas, best practices and documents such as risk assessment forms and corporate party policy and health and safety guides and more.
