Fifty BNC members were recently some of the first to view one of London’s new private dining and events rooms at a BNC networking event, writes Melissa Ruel.
To launch a series of networking evenings, meetings and breakfasts, BNC Director Kim Paulden partnered with Alicia Anderson, from the city’s stylish Great Eastern Hotel, to host an informal networking evening at The Temple – a new and unusual space within the 267-bed property.
BNC members (all professional conference, marketing and event managers) came from as near as the city and as far a field as Yorkshire to gather together to meet like-minded professionals and discuss critical industry issues.
The location of the event – The Temple room – was also a talking point. Atmospheric and highly unique, this gem of a space has many tales to tell. Once upon a time it was a Masonic Temple, but during building renovations in the late Victorian era it was mistakenly covered up by builders with a faux wooden wall. Twelve types of stunning Italian marble and its spectacular ‘signs of the Zodiac’ ceiling were hidden from view until recently. Now it is a fully fledged events space, accompanying the 11 other character-led private meeting and dining rooms within the Great Eastern Hotel.
“The networking event was a fantastic success,” reports The BNC’s Director, Kim Paulden who was there on the night. “Our members have been itching for a networking evening like this where they can meet like-minded people and discuss their roles as event managers. It is obvious from the buzz that evening that BNC members can’t get enough of meeting each other and sharing ideas, creating new strategies for solving problems and generally having a good gossip.
“Having the networking evening at The Temple made a great start to a calendar of regular BNC networking events.”
The next networking event is during the first week of December. Please email kimpaulden@thebnc.co.uk for more details
