Tea fit for a King

A new afternoon tea menu, inspired by the forthcoming Coronation of King Charles III, is available at Cliveden House throughout 2023.

The Great Royal Gardens Afternoon Tea, which has been curated by Executive Head Chef Chris Hannon, is designed to reflect His Majesty’s love of nature.

There is a Kensington Poppy Cake, The Lavender and Nasturtium Flowerpot, Buckingham Rose Bavarois, Sandringham Magnolia plus scones, clotted cream and jam and savoury treats and sandwiches.

Accompanying the unique delicacies will be a selection of full-bodied and aromatic Cliveden tea blends.

The Iconic Luxury property in Berkshire has welcomed every British monarch to its country mansion since King George I first visited in 1862.

“The Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in long-standing traditions and pageantry. For over fifty years, The King has championed an environmental philosophy to work with nature rather than against it,” said a statement on the royal-tea connection.

The teas, which range from £50 per person, will be served daily, from noon Monday to  Saturdays and from 4.15pm on Sundays.

For vegans, the offer is just as exquisite with plant-based alternatives and to make any tea extra special there is a Champagne option which comes with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne with the Royal Garden Aft.

All teas will be served in the Cliveden Dining Room, which overlooks the celebrated Parterre Gardens, part of 376 acres of National Trust gardens.
