Babington House

Babington House
Babington House is an early Georgian country house set in 18 acres of Somerset countryside that provides a relaxed location and comfortable surroundings for those who need somewhere to work or unwind.
We have the space to host retreats, workshops, meetings, lunches, dinners, get-aways or get-togethers. There are several meeting rooms (including a cinema) with extensive presentation facilities for you to choose from or should you prefer, you can work and eat outdoors.
Wireless internet access is available throughout the House. It is located 12 miles south of Bath and is only 90 minutes away from London by train.

The Grounds

The grounds at Babington are extensive and include a number of walks, tennis courts (grass and hard courts), cricket pitch, grass five-aside football pitch, a lake, the walled garden and many quiet corners if you want to read or laze about. For the more energetic, our reception team can organise ballooning, golf, rock climbing, horse riding and shooting off-site. Grab one of our bicycles and roam the grounds and surrounding paths.

Log Room
Housing an 11 metre long solid wood table, the Log Room can seat up to 32 people for a meeting or simply to enjoy a meal. Doors lead out into the Orangery, which combines to provide seating for 120 people, perfect for weddings, lunches, dinners or meetings and available when the House is exclusively hired.

The Library
The Library is located off the main hall with informal seating for up to 14, books and games and full waiter service. It is available for relaxed dining and drinks, and ideal for informal brainstorming meetings.

Pool Room
This room, often used as an extension of the Bar, is a space to relax and have fun. Sit back in a comfy chair or enjoy a game of pool.

The Study
The Study is a small room which can be booked day or night for meetings or meals of an informal nature. It seats up to 8 people, and has a 32" Sony Bravia LCD screen.

Cinema
The Cinema seats 45 people and has fully integrated audiovisual facilities. It is ideal for private screenings, presentations or slide shows. Slide projectors, video and computer graphics can be controlled from the stage and technical support is available.

Orangery
With views that extend over the grounds and lake, the Orangery is the main dining space within the House. When the House is exclusively hired, the Orangery can hold up to 90 guests for dining or meetings. Seating can be arranged in a variety of configurations to suit your needs.

Bar
The Bar, which never closes, is where hotel guests can gather for drinks and canapés. There are two Sony Bravia LCD screens, and when the House is exclusively hired, DJs can be arranged on request.

Bedrooms
There are 32 bedrooms, spread out between the Main House, Coach House, Stable Block, Lodge and Walled Garden. All the bedrooms are large, comfortable and individually designed. Baths are big enough for two, showerheads are the size of dinner plates, and the beds are hard to climb out of.

Cowshed
The Cowshed Spa is separated into two areas - Cowshed Active and Cowshed Relax. Cowshed Active is a place to exercise and regenerate. It is home to indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, steam, sauna and aroma rooms, as well as a fitness studio and gym. With sweeping views of the House's Victorian Walled Garden, Cowshed Relax is a place to indulge and pamper. There is a shop, three bedrooms with private treatment facilities and extensive treatment areas separated into Dry and Wet.

Weddings at Babington House
Nestled in the midst of rolling Somerset Hills, Babington House offers the perfect setting for a traditional country wedding - with a slightly bohemian twist.
Babington has its own chapel dating back to 1750, vast grounds, numerous spaces for eating and drinking, and 32 individually designed bedrooms. The Cowshed Relax spa, with treatment areas overlooking the House's Victorian Walled Garden is a place to unwind and relax before your big day. There is also Cowshed Active - home to swimming pools, steam and aroma rooms and a full gym.
Babington's comfortable interiors feature feminine touches and elements of traditional design, creating an inviting space for guests and an ideal backdrop for wedding photos. Civil ceremonies can be held in the Orangery, or arrange a religious service for up to 80 people in St. Margaret's Church. For the reception, you can enjoy a three course meal in the Orangery and Log Room - seating up to 120 people with sweeping views over the grounds and lake. Wedding packages can be tailored to suit and include one night's accommodation in all 32 bedrooms, drinks, canapés, wedding dinner and breakfast. Live entertainment, champagne toasts and a wide array of other activities will be taken care of with an ‘anything goes' approach to service.
