Offering our guests the best experience has been our mission since the company was founded almost 90 years ago. We take the health and well-being of our clients very seriously, so the safety and hygiene of our hotels have always been a priority and we are recognised in this field as among the most demanding in the sector.
Following the latest recommendations from experts and international institutions, in terms of safety against viral diseases, including COVID-19, we have adapted our prevention and hygiene procedures to ensure the utmost safety and well-being of our guests, staff and suppliers, at all our hotels. We have set up a Technical Committee to study and develop these processes and ensure that we can resume our activity with maximum safety.
For this purpose, we have created a programme called We care about you, which includes a series of measures to ensure you can enjoy your next stay at any of our hotels with complete peace of mind.
Free Telemedicine Service in Spain
During your stay at any hotel in Spain, when you book through barcelo.com or our Call Centre starting on 26 June 2020, you’ll have free and unlimited access via chat, telephone or video to the best general practice, paediatrics or dermatology professionals. This service is available in 5 languages (Spanish, Catalan, English, French and German) and, at the end of the online consultation, you will receive your medical report and even a digital prescription.
All you need to do is register using your booking number on the telemedicine platform we have developed together with AON and Openhealth to offer you personalised medical assistance online or by telephone during your stay at the hotel, immediately, without transfers and with total guarantee, so you can enjoy your holiday with peace of mind.
Cleaning and disinfection
Strengthened cleaning protocols under the supervision of a new hygienist responsible for guaranteeing complete disinfection of the hotel.
Specific audits will be carried out to verify the new protocols before the hotel opens and the usual audits will be strengthened for regular verification by our partners:
In areas such as the swimming pool, lobby, buffet, meeting rooms and other busy places, furniture will be rearranged to ensure compliance with safety measures. Safety measures will also be applied for guests and employees.

Continuous awareness-building programs to show employees how to protect themselves and training on the new operation protocols to combat COVID-19 and other viral infectious diseases. These programmes will be reinforced by modules from our expert hygiene team.
