Handing his years of logistics learning over to his team, Alec now focuses on developing the BNC brand and taking a lead on The BNC Show's sustainability policy - and how it can be improved with each passing Show.
Alec has many highlights of working in events over the years but recalls meeting Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, at Buckingham Palace a major one, if not the greatest.
Invited as a leading representative of the events industry, Alec said it was the ultimate occasion and one that he will never forget. "Especially as I heard Prince Philip call Her Majesty 'Lilibet'. It was very touching and now more poignant than ever."

Danielle is an experienced event manager, having worked in the industry for over 11 years. She had become increasingly frustrated with the excessive amounts of single use items and waste created in the industry and this inspired her to make a difference. In January 2020, she launched her own sustainable event management and consultancy business - Reward Events. In line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, Reward specializes in creating memorable experiences with purpose, that reduce the negative impact on the environment and drive real positive change. Reward is all about reflecting on the event management process and looking at how we should be doing things differently. How can you re-imagine your event to consider all the impacts – both positive and negative? How can you have still have an amazing event, just without the bad bits?

Ok. We’re two years in, so now what? Which hybrid skills do we ditch and which ones do we embrace? Should we be upping our game to improve both types of events - or focus purely on messaging and marketing to get our audiences back into venues? Whether we’re 'team hybrid' or 'team live,' a new look at marketing tools and event technology is always beneficial – as is finding new ways to excite and capture audiences’ attention. Our panel of event experts talk tech: including past challenges, current gains and the future of live events v hybrid.

With the industry moving to be more sustainable in event practices, planners are saying goodbye to paper feedback forms. But, the double edge sword shows that using post-event digital forms isn't getting the same levels of quality feedback.
Companies have been rolling out event apps which can capture the attendee experience in the moment, and use this data to improve future engagements. But, some planners don’t have the budget or resources to incorporate these full scale event applications on the market today. So, what options are on offer without squandering the budget?
From this session, attendees will understand:
The importance of attendee feedback
Styles of questions and language that will warrant responses
How to incentivise delegates to complete feedback
Selecting the right questions to benefit your future strategies
